1. WHO WE ARE

MA (Machine Assistant) is a proactive asset maintenance platform operated by MA LLC, a Kentucky limited liability company.

2. WHAT WE COLLECT

Account information: name, email address, password (encrypted)
Profile information: address (up to 2 residential for MA Home, up to 5 locations for MA Pro)
Asset information: make, model, year, serial number, purchase date, mileage, service history, photos
Service records: dates, providers, costs, technician notes, warranty information
Usage data: how you interact with MA, notification preferences, referral activity
Payment information: processed by Stripe — MA does not store credit card numbers
Communications: support emails, feedback, referral messages

3. WHAT WE DO NOT COLLECT

MA does not collect health data
MA does not track medical devices
MA does not sell your personal data to third parties
MA does not display advertising

4. HOW WE USE YOUR DATA

To provide proactive maintenance tracking and alerts
To calculate asset health scores and maintenance schedules
To generate replacement planning recommendations
To send notifications you have requested
To improve MA's Asset Library (anonymized, non-identifiable data only)
To process payments via Stripe
To provide customer support

5. THE MA ASSET LIBRARY

When you add an asset, anonymized equipment data (make, model, failure patterns) may be added to MA's shared Asset Library to improve recommendations for all users. This data is never linked to your identity. You cannot opt out of this anonymized contribution as it is core to MA's service.

6. DATA SHARING

MA shares data only with:

Stripe (payment processing)
Supabase (secure database hosting)
Anthropic (AI recommendations — no personal data retained)
Resend (email delivery)
Google Places API (professional finder — location only)

MA does not sell data. MA does not share data with advertisers.

7. DATA RETENTION

Active accounts: data retained for duration of subscription
Cancelled accounts: full data preserved for 90 days, then permanently deleted
Downgraded accounts: excess asset data preserved indefinitely
After account deletion: personal data deleted within 30 days. Anonymous Asset Library data retained permanently.
Payment records: retained by Stripe per their legal obligations

8. YOUR RIGHTS

Access: export your data anytime from Settings → Export My Data
Correction: update your information from Settings
Deletion: Settings → Account → Delete My Account (7-day grace period)
Portability: PDF and CSV export available anytime
Opt out of marketing: unsubscribe link in every email
CCPA: MA does not sell personal data
GDPR inquiries: privacy@joinma.app — response within 30 days

9. CONNECTED SYSTEMS

MA tracks the maintenance of your assets. MA cannot monitor or predict failures in connected systems including water supply lines, electrical connections, drain connections, or structural components. Regular inspection by a qualified professional is recommended separately.

10. MEDICAL DEVICES

MA does not provide tracking or recommendations for FDA-regulated medical devices under any circumstances.

11. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

MA is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

12. SECURITY

MA uses industry-standard encryption and secure hosting. However, no system is completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.

13. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

MA will provide 30 days notice before material changes to this Privacy Policy. Continued use after notice constitutes acceptance.
